References to “I”, “me”, “my” refer to the tutor. References to “you” or “the client” refer to the person booking and paying for the tutoring services.

 

2. Services Provided

I provide online tutoring sessions in the subject(s) agreed at the time of booking. Sessions may be one‑to‑one or group‑based and are delivered remotely using an online platform (e.g. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet).

I will provide the services with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with UK consumer law.

I do not guarantee specific academic results or outcomes.

 

3. Eligibility and Minors

If tutoring is provided to a student under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian must:

• Make the booking

• Accept these Terms and Conditions

• Be responsible for payment and supervision

I reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if safeguarding standards are not met or appropriate consent is not in place.

 

4. Bookings

• Sessions must be booked in advance.

• A booking is only confirmed once payment (or an agreed deposit) has been received.

• Session times are subject to availability.

 

5. Fees and Payment

• Prices are provided in advance and agreed at the time of booking.

• Payment is due before the session unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Payments are non‑transferable.

I reserve the right to suspend or cancel future sessions if payment is overdue.

 

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Client cancellations

• At least 12 hours’ notice: session may be rescheduled at no extra cost.

• Less than 12 hours’ notice or non‑attendance: the session fee is charged in full.

Tutor cancellations

If I need to cancel a session, you may choose:

• A full refund, or

• A rescheduled session at a mutually convenient time

 

7. Late Arrivals

If you or the student arrives late:

• The session will still end at the scheduled time.

• Missed time cannot be made up.

If I am late by more than 10 minutes, you will receive either extra time or a partial refund.

 

8. Online Sessions and Technology

You are responsible for:

• A stable internet connection

• A suitable device

• Access to the agreed online platform

I am not responsible for session disruption caused by technical issues outside my control.

 

9. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, worksheets, slides, and resources I create remain my intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

You may use materials for personal educational use only. They may not be shared, sold, or redistributed without my permission.  

 

10. Behaviour and Conduct

I reserve the right to terminate a session (without refund) if there is:

• Abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour

• Harassment or discriminatory language

• Breach of safeguarding expectations

 

11. Data Protection

I process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Personal information is used only for:

• Delivering tutoring services

• Communication and administration

• Legal or tax requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses

• My total liability is limited to the total fees paid for the relevant services

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

 

13. Termination

Either party may end the tutoring relationship at any time. Outstanding fees remain payable.

 

14. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply unless otherwise agreed.

 

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
